The Parent Center Newsletters
The newsletters contain a lot of great information about curriculum, upcoming events, and Learning Logs; as well as setting up meetings with Theresa about curriculum and/or Nancy about Learning Logs.
Daily Read Aloud on Zoom
Want a connective way to begin your homeschool days? Join Nancy each day at 9:00 AM on Zoom for a virtual read aloud! This invitation is for all ages, regardless of grade level or cohort. You can join her on Zoom HERE.
Educator Support and 1:1 Meetings
The Parent Center at Da Vinci Connect TK-8 is open to DV Connect families and is a great place to stop by to learn all about Learning Logs, Homeschool Curriculum choices, FAN (Family Action Network) school events, and more! Nancy, Theresa, and Jahmal will be there to walk you through all the questions you might have. The Parent Center is open and ready for you. Come in to Room 101 to work independently, or collaborate with others, hours as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (on school days) from 9:15-11:30 AM.
You can also schedule 1:1 meetings. For curriculum or your homeschooling journey, schedule a meeting with Theresa Leone through your student’s Canvas account. For Learning Logs, you can schedule a meeting with Nancy Waites, here. And for FAN Events, you can reach out to Jahmal Durham, jdurham@davincischools.org.
Some examples of topics you could meet with Theresa about include:
* Homeschooling for the First Time
* Creating a homeschool schedule
* Using DV Connect curriculum
* Leveraging technology to create a blended learning plan
* Creating a balanced literacy program
And, so much more!
Supplemental Curriculum
Da Vinci Connect TK-8 Curriculum Resource Choice Menu for the 2024-2025 School Year
The DV Connect Supplemental Curriculum is available via the Clever app for easy access. Almost all of the platforms are up and running. If you have not yet accessed curriculum while logged in as your student, check it out. To make it very simple, Theresa and Kaitlin recorded this tutorial Passcode: c4tL&FHH that walks you through logging in and accessing a collection of bookmarks, as well as an overview of the curriculum available to you this year. Check your child’s teacher’s Canvas site for the Supplemental Curriculum available to you.
Too, keep in mind that some vendors will not be accessible via Clever. For example, Beast Academy Activation codes were sent via email. Essaypop is accessible via a school code. You can access BrainPop with the educator code. You should have already received an email invitation to set up your Gizmos and Science4Us teacher accounts, depending upon your child’s grade level. Check in with your classroom teachers for information related to Reading A-Z. As a reminder, free, recommended curriculum such as NewsELA, CommonLit, Big History/World History, Georgia State Math, and Zinn Ed Project can be accessed without credentials from DV Connect.
Please don’t hesitate to check in with Theresa about any aspect of your homeschool journey that is alive for you and your children.
Reserve your slot and bring your questions to The Parent Center. Theresa is waiting for you!
